Description
Hello,

I am selling a very nice 90% original 1975 FMC motor home #850. FMC made 1050 motor homes from 1973 to 1976. I believe there are around 800-900 left. I bought the motor home 4 years ago and have put a lot of time and love into the motor home. The motor home includes all the props shown in the photos except the brown sleeping bag, cargo rack, gas fire pit, and a few items.

When I bought the motor home from Oregon and drove home to Paso Robles. The motor home had a problem with steering play which was common for FMC. I took care of the problem and had a new power steering replaced and front suspension inspected and tightened. The motor is a Dodge 440 industrial motor with 75,600 miles and runs very strong. It’s a gas pusher meaning the motor is in the rear. The motor originally came with Thermo Guad carburetor and was replaced to Edelbrock carburetor. I still have the Thermo Guad carburetor in a box. The original carburetor was fine until I made a mistake by putting too much oil on the K&N air filter that clogged the carburetor. The carburetor needs to be overhauled however the Edelbrock carburetor runs a lot better.

I have gone through the dash wiring and corrected them. Most of the light fixtures are original with new covers and I have replaced some of the modern led lights with stock light fixtures. I like to keep everything stock and correct era period. I upgraded the bathroom and kitchen faucets due to leaks on the original faucets. I tried to repair them and failed to make it stop leaking. Bathroom faucets are the same as the original faucets. I decided to upgrade the kitchen faucets because it’s easier to wash dishes, pots, and pans.

The gas line has been professionally and certified inspected. I replaced a new water heater valve. The original valve failed and due to safety and I was able to find a new valve that works with an older water heater. It works well and does get very hot. The only thing that was not tested is the furnace to heat the motor home. I use an electric heater and it’s much safer.

The sewer and grey tank valves have been replaced to a modern valve which works much better. The original valves gaskets were dry and leaked. The rig comes with all attachments for the sewer drain out including water hose and sewer tank pressure wash.

The roof has been resealed with new vent caps and 2 new roof vent covers. Every vent caps, vent covers, roof rack mount, and ladder mounts have been freshly caulked with self-leveling caulking.

All 6 tires have been replaced at 74,000 miles to a correct size tire. The previous tires were the wrong size tire. The tires used to be a straight tread and I changed to cross treads which handles the driving a lot better.

The generator works and I tuned up the generator with new air filter, oil filter, oil, muffler exhaust pipe, and exhaust pipe hanger.

I added 4 new vintage fog lights sold by Kmart. All exterior lights work except the reverse light. I believe the transmission back up light switch failed. I was going to add a manual switch for back up light and never had the time to do it. I added a back up camera to make back up driving a lot easier and the camera can remain on while driving with the headlight switch on for safety.

I added 4 new 12 volt fans in the front and rear. I installed vintage Samsung flat screen tv. The motor home includes, vintage microwave, vintage coffee maker, and vintage props that you see in the photos for interior and exterior. A motor home cover is included for a long-term storage. There is so much to list.

The motor home is currently registered until October 2024. I have the title and bill of sale on hand. It is a beautiful original motor home with correct period props to own. There is a FMC club to join and they do have rallies and the club is very helpful with questions and answers. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
