1962 Airstream Trade Wind

RARE FIND! 1962 Airstream TradeWind Travel Trailer. It has dual axles and is 24' in length.

Purchased by current owners in 2016 and professionally renovated and polished by Vintage Trailer Masters in Bend, Oregon. It's extremely comfortable to live in, stylish, and tows smoothly. Dry weight is around 4250 lbs. Tows easy with a V8. We added a battery powered jack in 2019.

The interior textiles were updated, and the exterior was polished again in 2020. The exterior is in great shape considering its age, and there are only a few minor dings, but they don't detract from its beauty. There is a spacious exterior storage hatch under the bed area, and we had sewer hose storage tubes mounted underneath the bumper. It has two 33lb. propane tanks that we had painted silver. We also had a tankless water heater installed so there is unlimited hot water. In 2018 we had a certified appraisal done by Polk Associates Professional Appraisers, LLC, so she comes with pedigreed paperwork. Has been kept covered when it's not in use to maintain the lovely polish. CLEAR Oregon Title and Oregon Special Permit Plates for a vintage vehicle so you'll never have to renew them.

The interior features a dinette that was updated to look like the newer Airstreams ``Grand Lounge". The original table is stored under the bed, so that the lounge can convert to a large sleeping area for kids or guests. Seats 4-5 people comfortably around the pedestal table. The cabinets and woodwork were sanded and stained in a more updated cool gray tone. The flooring is Pergo laminate flooring in a light gray beech wood. The Dometic refrigerator was installed by a prior owner, so it's not original and is electric only. The original refrigerator cabinet was torn out and we had a customized multi purpose pantry storage unit built which houses the following: A tall skinny multi-shelf pantry for food storage or dishes, a generous broom closet by the entry door. The gas furnace is functioning but we never use it, we prefer to use a small portable space heater if needed. Cable hookups were also added to this cabinet and the 22" TV is on a swivel mount so you can watch TV from the lounge or in bed. New Air Conditioner and Fantastic Fan installed in 2019 and a new astrodome above the dining area which helps with natural light. The rear sleeping quarters were originally bunk beds that were removed and now accommodate a full size custom mattress and added 6 drawers of storage under the bed. Across from the bed there are two spacious closets that are separated by a small vanity which has more storage and drawers below. All countertops (kitchen, bathroom, vanity) were updated with a warm honey stained bamboo. The kitchen sink has an updated modern gooseneck faucet, and the dual stainless steel sinks and Wedgewood cooktop/oven are original and in full working condition. The interior walls were repainted recently in a cool gray. The full bathroom in the rear of the trailer features a newer toilet and we refinished the tub from the dull almond to a bright white. The old sink was removed and replaced with a beautiful glass vessel sink and a complimentary stainless steel modern faucet. There is plenty of storage under the bathroom sink area as well. This is a park model so no gray water tank, it will need to be hooked into a portable tank for showers if there is no access to the sewer. Included is a 35 gallon exterior portable gray water tank which stores nicely in the outer compartment. Although it's not pictured hanging the custom bathroom shower curtain matches the bathroom window curtains which are gray with a tasteful retro vintage flamingo print. The upholstery was all done by a professional seamstress in a very appealing color palette of cool grays, taupe, and grayish dark blues. This trailer was used for both our business and for pleasure, and is looking for a new owner who will care for it like it deserves. Included is a 14'L x 8'W Waterproof awning and poles made by Pink Flamingo Awnings.
