1942 Homemade Kit Vintage Trailer with Original Details
1748 Monticello Road
San Mateo, CA 94402
This 1942 Homemade Kit vintage trailer boasts the best of original components and modern safety. The original wood paneling and linoleum floors are solid, with no soft spots or water damage. Original Bakelite cabinet handles, Hehr windows, and yellow crackle Formica counters are all in beautiful condition.
The trailer is 15’ long including the tongue. It weighs approximately 1,000 pounds and can be easily towed by a Honda Pilot.
Modern upgrades include brand new tires, new axle and alignment, new brake wiring & brake unit, a new plug and wiring for standard electricity at campsite hookups, as well as recent re-sealing of every seam. These improvements ensure that this beauty stays air tight and tows effortlessly.
Newer, and extremely comfortable full size mattress.
There is an ice box that empties melted ice outside the trailer through a tube.
There is also a 3-burner stovetop that runs off propane. The propane tank is extremely rare and vintage - you cannot get it filled commercially but you can refill it yourself or replace it with a modern propane tank. See photos for details.
I have the pink slip and current registration. I also have all the professional work records done by Sturken Auto and RV Repair in San Jose, CA in the last four years. I put approximately $5K into making this trailer 100% safe so you can rest assured!
