This 1946 Spartan Manor 25' travel trailer is a complete Resto-Mod completed in February of 2024. This Spartan was 501st off the assembly line in 1946.
The Spartan Aircraft Company was founded in 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the late 1930's Spartan was acquired by the Getty Corporation owned by the famous billionaire and oil tycoon J. Paul Getty. At the end of WWII Getty had to decide where he was going to take the company next. With the great need for housing after the war, Getty determined that trailer manufacturing would be the way to go. The first prototype was made in the summer of 1945. The first models rolling off the production line in the mid 40's to early 50's could be considered true travel trailers. Spartan spared no expense on their trailers.
They were of the highest quality and sleekest design. By the mid to late 50's Spartan began to make larger trailers, or homes, as Spartan called them.
This project included the replacement of many of the exterior aluminum panels, a new 8000-pound Dexter axel, brakes, wheels, super heavy duty 10 ply tires, four leveling jacks, water, cable and power outlets, and new running gear. Original porch light refurbished.
All of the painted wood paneling and insulation was replaced. New Armstrong flooring was added as well as windows, screens, rubber gaskets and two new screen doors.
We added a new General Dynamics all-in-one 115 V/12 V electrical system, LED lighting, cable TV, plumbing and a 6-gallon Stiebel Eltron hot water heater. The trailer is pre-wired for future solar.
In the kitchen we chose to go with walnut cabinetry and white solid surface countertops. We put in a new stainless Isotherm refrigerator, Dometic 2 burner stainless cooktop, and deep stainless sink with new faucet.
A new RecPro HVAC system as installed on the roof with extra added roof support.
Exterior of trailer was professionally polished and a new Spartan Manor decal was added.
The trailer is equipped with two doors, street side and curb side, with porthole windows, both doors have functional aluminum steps. Included are two 20-pound LPG propane tanks.
A queen bed with a new 14" memory foam mattress in the bedroom and a grey queen sleeper sofa with a 4? memory foam mattress in the living room.
In the bathroom, an aluminum paneled wet bath with new full sized Dometic 310 ceramic toilet with pedal operated flush and new removable shower head were installed.
In the interior, LED lighting installed throughout and blackout curtains on all windows.
Storage includes a pantry, and under and overhead cabinet storage in kitchen as well as a closet in the bedroom.
Included in the sale will be a new awning with 5 poles.
This trailer is approximately 4000 lbs.
There is one 12-gallon black tank and one 37-gallon grey water tank.
This trailer has a clear California Tile in seller's name.
