1951 Royal Spartanette

Fully rebuilt with great care to keep the original character, this Spartan has been modernized in all the right ways. The original cabinetry has been restored and upgraded to conceal a TV and a Marantz stereo system powering three 9" Klipsch copper speakers overhead, plus a 16" speaker tucked into the first cabinet. Suburban 35000 BTU heater.

The plumbing system is exceptional: dual dedicated hot and cold water pumps on a hidden switch, a matching GPM tankless water heater, and all-new PEX with SharkBite fittings. The trailer carries 200 gallons of holding tanks—two 40-gallon fresh, two 40-gallon grey, and one 40-gallon black (never used). All are properly vented and were custom-built, with modified rails to accommodate them. The shower was sandblasted and repainted in its original “safety green.” Holding tanks like these are almost unheard of in a Spartan—this setup is truly engineered.

The goal of the build was to make it look like an untouched survivor, as if someone just got incredibly lucky. But behind that look is serious machinery.

The original Frigidaire is fitted with a new relay and runs flawlessly—said to be good for another 70 years. The rare Dixie stove is a showpiece: gauges re-sealed, new chrome and porcelain, fully functioning clock and timer, plus two lights (oven and canopy).

A large commercial truck battery sits under the countertop for easy access. Tires and brakes are new with roughly 1,000 miles on them. The bedroom features a brand-new Beautyrest full-size firm mattress. A full-length awning—never used—is still in the bag. Additional upgrades include a hard-wired backup camera (RCA cable), a Joybird hide-a-bed, and custom curtains made with period-correct fabric.

This is a one-of-a-kind Spartan—restored to look original, but built like a modern machine.
