Description
1957 Deville by the Cat-o-lac Corporation in El Monte, CA.

Newly Rebuilt during 2016 by Palmer Boys Trailers, 15' length canned ham. This trailer received a major frame up rebuild and has over 650 "professional" labor hours, and over $10K in materials invested.

FRAME/SUSPENSION, The cabin body was removed from the steel frame, additional frame cross members and supports added. The rear was framed for an accessory receiver to accept a bicycle rack. The frame received welded supports for the four Atwood corner drop down stabilizers. The vintage slide out step is securely welded to the frame. The dual propane tank mount is welded to the frame. The frame received a new 3500# rated axle with 10" electric brakes. Leaf springs were re-arched by Atlas Spring. The wheels are powder coated and have premium Maxxis brand radial trailer tires in the 225/75R15 load range "D" size, Baby Moons and stainless beauty rings are installed. It has a spare tire/wheel, but the tire needs to be replaced due to age.

BODY/INTERIOR, all wood framing was inspected, repaired, or replaced with poplar hard wood. Has a new plywood subfloor with new Marmoleum flooring. New Birch wall and ceiling paneling with all of the original "curved corner" cabinets refinished in the original amber shellac. The walls and ceiling were fully insulated with ridgid Styrofoam, then wrapped in a house wrap vapor barrier. Has the original medicine cabinet in the closet wall. Has a ball bearing slide out cabinet built in under the bed for a Dometic port-a-potty. Has a magazine rack over the bed. Has all new aluminum exterior skin, roof, and a pebble finished front rock guard from Hemet Valley RV. Vintage rope awning included. All metal trims are new and polished. Vintage original eyebrows are polished. All external screws are stainless. The original Hehr windows were taken apart, cleaned, polished, and reassembled with new seals and gaskets. The original style Deville graphics were painted on with automotive quality paint. New items, mattress (76" by 52"), upholstery on the seat cushions. New Formica on counter and table tops. Poplar framed entry door, oak framed screen door. The original ice box was refinished to match the original lemon yellow porcelain on the Princess stove/oven.

PLUMBING, Two new propane tanks, new propane regulator, new hoses, all new propane lines for gas light, stove top, oven. Has a new ten gallon fresh water tank, new Sureflo brand "on demand" water pump. The system is plumbed with PEX tubing and one way back flow valves which allow both city water and the 12v pump water to flow in the same lines. Also has a hand pump.

ELECTRICAL 12V DC TOWING, New seven way tow plug connects running lights, turn signals, brake lights, trailer brakes, and trailer battery charging to tow vehicle. This trailer is equipped with a safety breakaway switch for the electrical trailer brakes.

ELECTRICAL 12V DC LIGHTING AND SYSTEMS, trailer has both a lighted Bargman grab handle and a lighted step with a switch located inside. Has a 12v flat top Fantastic roof top vent fan. The on board 12v deep cycle battery is recharged from both the tow vehicle and a battery maintainer powered by the 110v AC system. Has a 12v receptacle for hone charging. Has a full 12v lighting system for dry camping without shore power.

ELECTRICAL 110V AC Lights and Receptacles, 30A Furrion stainless shore plug with Furrion cable, all new 110v wiring to circuit breakers, lights, receptacles. Has a new micro wave oven built into (hidden) in the closet. Has a full 110v lighting system for camping with full shore power.

GENERAL, Trailer has a clear California Title, and has a current California PTI (five year) registration, and CMP designation to January 2024. The 1956 yellow license plate will be released and is included in the sale. Note, this is an original issue California license plate, not a Y.O.M. DMV assigned plate. This saves the yearly Y.O.M. fees. Trailer weight is estimated at 2000#, and tongue weight is estimated at 250#. This trailer can be easily pulled by most small SUV's. It has a 2" ball coupler and has a sway bar mount located on the frame tongue.
