Cozy Vintage Trailer You'll Love

Hi! We bought our 17 foot refurbished 1969 Lamar three years ago from a seller in South Carolina because we thought it looked very sweet inside and was compatible with our tastes -- also because it had everything we needed: A place someone could really live: A full bathroom with a stand alone shower, a full kitchen, AC and a very cozy queen size bed. We had her towed from S. Carolina to Los Angeles sight unseen during the pandemic to use as a small house for my father in law, who was in need at the time. He lived there for about six months and really enjoyed the space. Since he's been gone, our kids like to hang out in there and do homework when it's available... which it generally is not, because we have been renting it out and it's been booked nearly solid since we started renting it. We listed on Airbnb (Google "Cozy Vintage Trailer in Echo Park Hills, Airbnb" and you'll find it easily) and we've been getting between 3,000 dollars and 1,500 dollars per month ever since (admittedly the rental market is wild in LA!). As our guests have unearthed minor problems with systems, we have been fixing them and the trailer is in by far better condition than when we purchased her for 30k three years ago. We have gotten a "Superhost" rating on Airbnb and lots of repeat customers who find the space charming and well suited for short or medium term stays. The builder who remodeled it didn't rebuild the frame, just the interior, but the framing does seem pretty solid to date -- we just haven't had any reason to take off the metal panels to inspect it! Bottomline, we love the income it provides and having it as a possibility to give to out of town guests visiting us --the only reason we're selling is because she lives in our shared double driveway and we want to open the driveway again. The interior walls are fashioned of strips of reclaimed lumber and there is a small closet near the entrance plus storage under the bed. After we received the trailer, we installed a new blackwater tank, redid the shower and sink plumbing, installed a brand new water heater and installed a new propane regulator. The only thing we've never tried firing up is the furnace -- it probably works but we've always just used a space heater if its cold in there and that works great.
