1951 Boles Aero Montecito

We purchased this trailer in 2017 from an expert in vintage campers. This was his listing:
1951 Boles Aero Montecito. 18’ Body (add 2.5’ for tongue) 7’ 8” wide, about 3,000 pounds. Title is clear and current California with black/yellow plates. The exterior is all aircraft grade aluminum with riveted construction, which can be polished up to a mirror like shine (metal frame). New seven pin plug operates all exterior lights and trailer brakes on this single axle survivor. No holding tanks. New street water connection (pexs) with pressure reducer. Electric water heater in working condition. This two door model has a private bedroom that is separated from the living quarters with a sliding door. The dinette also converts into a bed. New upholstery and barkcloth curtains. This trailer has been cleaned up but not restored. Previous owners installed a toilet that doubles as a night stand (or could be removed.) The toilet, fridge, oven and heater have not been used by me. I do not know their working condition. The stove top works. I installed a new gas regulator, hoses and tanks. All of the interior is 110v electrical and it all works. I have not used the interior gas lamps. The floor shows signs of wear at the entry and in front of the fridge. I covered the wear areas with throw rugs because I wanted to maintain the rest of the original floor covering. I have also greased the bearings since I towed it. All but two of the windows function. Two will need some minor repairs to be 100%. All of the glass is intact with no cracks. I owned this trailer over the winter and it did not leak. Doors open and close nicely but I do not have keys. Trailer has a lot of storage.


The updated info:
We never tested any of the appliances–this trailer was our home office/guest room/storage. There are two full closets in the bedroom, one of them perfectly sized for a porta-potty. We had a custom natural latex mattress made for the back bed--approx. double bed size. Sleeps 4 (with 2 sharing dinette bed). Updated wheels (and studs) to modern standard (non split rim) aluminum on modern size 235/80R16 trailer tires (purchased new in 2021 now with 250 miles) for increased durability and ease of finding replacements. Doors have working locks and keys. Camper is water-tight. Still clean title and current CA yellow/black plates.
