1970 Silver Streak Sabre 23 Vintage Travel Trailer

(Finishing touches are still in progress so we do not yet have many photos of the updated interior, but that will be coming in the next couple months or so.)

A rare gem! It is not often you’ll find a vintage aluminum travel trailer of this convenient length on the market! The body is 23 feet long, about seven feet wide, and about eight feet high. The total length is about 25 feet from back bumper to coupler. We weighed it fully loaded, except for empty water tank, during a road trip and the weight at that time was approximately 4,720 pounds. The exterior is constructed of anodized aluminum, which is amazing for durability and, unliked polished aluminum, does not need to be polished or waxed.

Delivery might be possible based on distance and timing. The travel trailer is currently located in San Leandro, California.

We are the fourth owner. It was owned and maintained by the previous owner’s parents for about 20 years who bought it from the original owners. Many of the vintage manuals and documents are included. 

The previous owners made many improvements and we did a beautiful update that will allow you to enjoy both the quality and charm of the vintage construction and the beauty and efficiency of modern style and amenities.


Technical and cosmetic updates:
Exterior: Eternabond tape on the roof and poly caulk where needed to seal a leak were added by previous owner around 2021. Mostly original sealant between the aluminum panels.
The front left plexiglass corner window had been broken during the previous ownership so we had it replaced with an equivalent vintage Silver Streak window.
Awning: Replaced with new material by previous owner, extends and retracts properly.
New exterior Maxxair ceiling vent covers added by previous owner and we installed new interior ceiling vent frames.
Tires: New installed around 2021 by previous owner.
Brakes: Electronic brakes and emergency connections and mechanisms all work properly and were recently inspected as part of an overall maintenance and systems check.
Jack: Upgraded to power tongue jack by previous owner.
Newer 7-pin connector, properly connects for all lighting, braking, and charging circuits, added by previous owner.
Newer 12V DC battery installed around 2021 by previous owner.
Exterior lights: All exterior lights work. We installed new running lights in 2023.
Interior lights: All interior lights work and most were converted to LED by previous owner.
Air conditioner is on bedroom ceiling and works very well.
A propane furnace is installed and works very well, however if you plan to be connected to electrical services, a small space heater to use in bathroom or bedroom is included if desired.
In the kitchen/dining room, we removed the carpet and the damaged subfloor down to the metal frame, removed rust and powder-coated the frame, installed new subfloor then lay durable and handsome compressed bamboo flooring throughout.
Newer rubber weather strip, new knobs and deadbolt, and new hold back were installed on the front door.
We replaced the cramped dinette benches and table with a spacious custom L-shaped storage bench with custom upholstered cushions.
Water: New tank and pump were installed around 2020 by previous owner. External hookup hose included.
Brand new FOGATTI RV Tankless Water Heater InstaShower 6 Gen 2 with remote controller!
Toilet: Brand new, unused Dometic 311 toilet! Original black tank emptied and serviced, clean, with new external cleanout port and updated sewer connections for modern hook-ups to standard service ports. Newer and clean lug-a loo emptying cart can be included if desired for off-grid and campground options where connections are limited.
Shower: original fiberglass tub-shower with new shower head and new ceiling light.
Updated bathroom towel bars and toilet paper holder, flooring, and trim.
We replaced the old 12 volt bathroom cigarette lighter outlet with a new one and all electrical tests properly on inspection.
Beautiful new bathroom and kitchen faucets and new Kraus Purita deck-mount cold water dispenser with new Waterdrop Ultrafiltration 10UA-UF under-sink water filter!
New oiled butcher block kitchen countertops, updated backsplash and trim.
New metal stove cover.
We installed a handy wall-mounted dish drainer that pulls down over the kitchen sink and folds up out of the way when not in use.
New custom-made curtains for front and bedroom windows.
Beds: RV bunk size custom foam mattresses bought around 2021. Newer RV bunk size mattress protectors, sheets, and blankets included. We installed rails so there is the option to slide a platform across the walkway to create one larger bed.
Original stove and oven work on propane and the line was replaced with new gas pipe and safety connections, updated valve and venting. Stove hood vent fan and light work. Color was called Butternut.
Original double-basin porcelain kitchen sink, also in Butternut color, is in great condition.
Fridge is not the original but the replacement works well and operates on propane or AC power.
New Spectrum Oakmont PVC folding doors between bathroom and bedroom and between bedroom and kitchen.
Cabinets: Fake wood overlay was removed and cabinets were painted. Beautiful new cabinet latches, “new” (unused) vintage hinges, and new struts were installed. New drawer pulls were installed.
Walls and ceiling were freshly painted.
